47 Eighth Grade Graduates Set for Solvang Ceremony
Diplomas will be presented to a class of 47 eighth grade graduates at commencement Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Veterans Memorial Building Solvang. Ralph W. Edwards district superintendent will present the class in his final graduation before retiring after 21 years in Solvang. Father Charles H. Stacy of St. Mark's in the Valley Episcopal Church will open the ceremonies. Holly Woodill will lead the salute to the flag.

Eighth grade rites at Santa Ynez School held Wednesday
Commencement exercises for 79 graduates of Santa Ynez Elementary were held in the Raymond B. Carricaburg Building. The program featured an overture by the school band, a flag salute led by Jeff Kirby, student speakers, and diplomas presented by Mrs. Cherry Lehman. Santa Ynez and Solvang graduates included numerous named students and faculty. a Father’s Day breakfast by Boy Scout Troop 41 occurred Sunday near Edison Street with ticket sales supporting summer camps.
