Casualties Told in Post War Era
In four months since the Vietnam cease fire 13 American servicemen were killed in Cambodia Laos and Vietnam with two missing possibly POWs. Three deaths occurred in Cambodia while two pilots vanished April 18 in an Air Force F4 Phantom believed down in area held by Cambodian rebels. The two missing are Captains Samuel L. James and Douglas K. Martin. Eight of the 10 other deaths occurred in Laos on an EC47 shot down February 5. Two Army helicopter crewmen died in South Vietnam in separate incidents. Officials see little hope for any of the 1,267 missing before the cease fire being alive.

Astronauts View Cape Kennedy Launch Site Through Clouds
Skylab crew led by Charles Conrad Paul Weitz and Joseph Kerwin conducted a 32 minute earth resources pass over Washington to Brazil from Cape Kennedy. Clouds obscured much of Florida and the Disney World area as they photographed the launch complex and Titan rocket facility. Conrad planned experiments to manufacture ball bearings in orbit and performed space welding tests in a vacuum chamber to show weightless manufacturing potential. The team noted widespread cloud cover hindered targeted imaging across the nation.
