PG&E seeks rate hike may raise city electric bills

Lompoc and several California cities may lift electric bills after PG&E filed with the PUC for a 16 percent wholesale power rate increase set to take effect August 23. City official Gene Wahlers says homeowner rates could rise about 15 to 16 percent, with an estimated $108,000 extra annual city cost. NCPA and multiple member cities, including Healdsburg and Ukiah, challenge the 22 percent hike and may face the new 16 percent request.

Jaworski presses Nixon for rapid tape delivery in Watergate case

Lompoc First Quarter 1974 Taxable Sales Decline

Lompoc taxable retail sales fell about 12 percent in Q1 1974 to 11.63 million with countywide 14 percent decline, apparel stores hit hardest at 38 percent, and unincorporated areas down 2.2 million.
