County Board Acts On Fees Roads Names And Closures

County supervisors approved an accounting services agreement with N. Ray Caymon CPA for Santa Maria Hospital from July 1 to December 31, 1970 at 450 dollars monthly. They rejected most park camping refund claims unless extraordinary circumstances exist. They referred quit claim requests on Shephard Mesa to the road and planning departments. They supported renaming Old Broadway in Santa Maria to Preisker Lane. They approved a temporary closing of portions of Hubbard Primero and Aliente Streets in New Cuyama per Cuyama Valley Federation of Independent Businessmen.

Allan Hancock offers new agribusiness study program

The Applied Arts Division of Allan Hancock College will start a new program this fall named agribusiness to align agriculture and business. Ray Mills announced the initiative and Jerrold J. Waters of La Puente will lead the program, which emphasizes learning on farms and with local businesses to address real needs and solutions.
