Mrs. Robert Andrew has been named coordinator of the Lompoc Valley Girls Club at 327 South H Street. The organization is being reorganized financially and for services to local girls with volunteers from many walks of life aiding a full program. Camp Fire offers junior high girl babysitting course
Lompoc Council of Camp Fire Girls presents a six week babysitting course for seventh and eighth graders at Lompoc and Vandenberg Junior High schools. Sessions run 3 15 to 4 15 p m on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting January 9 and 10 with a $1 text fee. Participants will be listed as potential sitters upon completion. The program committee is led by Mrs. Murray Lester and instructors include Frank Piemme and others. Needlepoint activity also noted for Lompoc Jewels Club with meetings at Mrs. Norman Lee Blakeboro’s home on North Second Street.

The Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of World War I gave Ella Gehr a money tree for years of service including hall hosting and coffee duties. Eleanor Howell led a potluck luncheon in Veterans Memorial Hall and decorations featured greenery and red glass. Coffee cups from Lompoc Savings and Loan were donated. Mae Clark and William Proud were reported improving in hospital. Transportation help offered for the Solvang district meeting on Tuesday Jan 16 at 10:30 a.m. in the Solvang Memorial Building.
