A traveling party from Lompoc had seats swapped on an AMTRAK trip to San Francisco for New Year. Four couples, Bob and Linda Bartow, Robin and Jeannie Dickinson, Jim and Fran Spanne, John and Mary Ann Phelps, found their plans disrupted but enjoyed a private compartment and dinner aboard. They visited Fisherman's Wharf, rode a trolley at midnight, then returned the next morning to San Luis Obispo for breakfast before heading home.

About 40 Westmont College students plus two faculty members the Revs Robert Weinberg and George Blount will join worship at First Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
