Dear Abby and School Reward Rules Inspire Community Questions
The column includes a Dear Abby note urging restraint on pressuring children to babysit or act in ways that seem improper. It also discusses a reader’s request to condemn paying students for grades, with Abby advising parents set their own rules and not pay for good marks. The piece then lists local events: a garage sale at Bethany Lutheran Church with proceeds for a church bus fund, and a bus tour by Lompoc Alpha Club Roadrunners visiting Decanso Gardens and Huntington Library with a $11.50 trip cost and a March 1 reservation deadline.
