Buellton water project options eyed after FHA grant falloff
Buellton Community Services District directors weighed alternative plans after Farmers Home Administration declined a 500000 grant for a new water treatment plant and a 500000 gallon reservoir. They favored developing the plant first, studied bond funding, and invited FHA regional head John Wilson and law firm Wilson and Jones to next session. The board also reviewed an insurance seminar plan, updated a meeting room use policy, and set a 50 deposit for a large mobile barbecue donated by Mrs. Tom Parks.

CSF Chapter Embarks on Overnight Disneyland Excursion

Beef cattle market strengthens at Santa Ynez auction
About 400 beef animals sold at the Santa Ynez Valley sales yard in Buellton with prices across classes rising. Commercial cows 30–32 cents, utility cows 26–30, canners and cutters 22–26, bulls 28–33, steer calves 38–42, heifer calves 30–35, feeder steers 38–40, feeder heifers 32–35.

Three more arrested in Santa Ynez Valley HS break-in
Three additional suspects, Sid Hamilton of Solvang and George Milina and Guy Maler of Santa Ynez all 18, were taken into custody by sheriff's deputies Wednesday for the burglary of a chemistry room at Santa Ynez Valley High School last Sunday. Previously arrested at the scene was Stuart S. Lilly, 18, of Van Nuys. The group allegedly fled after stealing four chemical scales.

Improvement group to reconvene in Santa Ynez
