Second privately owned outpatient clinic to open in Lompoc

The Lompoc Hospital District Board disclosed a second privately owned outpatient clinic will open soon in Lompoc. Dr. David Gordin plans an outpatient clinic in Lompoc in March, while Dr. Rod Hamer opened Community Medical Clinic this month at 119 South B St. A county evaluation in three months will decide if a public clinic is needed.

District officials hold private talks with school closure critics

Superintendent Clarence Bloom and two trustees met with SOS representatives to ease tensions over planned closures of two elementary schools. Parents in La Mesa and Miguelito fear safety and transport impacts as pupils move to new campuses.
