Cost-of-living rise held to 0.4 percent in January

Washington reports the January CPI up 0.4 percent with food and fuel declines offset by higher medical care postal rates and household services. Prices were 6.8 percent higher than a year earlier as non food items rose only 0.2 percent.

Ford revokes old order on Japanese relocation

Lompoc Approves New 60-Unit Apartment Near Walnut and Third

Building permits near for a 60 unit, 1.3 million dollar apartment project at Walnut Avenue and Third Street by Wacot Co. of Oxnard. The plan adds to several developments including eight new homes, a 121 unit project by the Santa Ynez River, and a 125 unit apartment near Miguelito Channel with mid summer construction. City building official Bill Cruse expects permits next week and notes recreational features like a putting green and horseshoe pits.
