Miramar plans tennis club face tough approval in Montecito

A $500 000 beach and racquet club proposed for the Miramar Hotel in Montecito won tentative county approval but must meet strict conditions. The plan includes eight courts a clubhouse and staff housing with on site parking for 438 spaces plus a contingency, a railroad crossing warning system, and limited night play with a 9 to 10 p.m. closure. The hearing was continued to March 6 to renotice the full hotel property.

Supervisors to review 69 revenue sharing requests in May

Santa Barbara County Supervisors will begin May 13 to consider 69 outside group requests totaling 4,140,857 for 1974 75 revenue sharing funds. County officials note about 4 million may be available for appropriation with 1 million needed for capital costs.
