Swordfish bill aims to regulate California commercial fishery
Legislation introduced in the State Legislature would bring commercial swordfishermen under California Fish and Game Commission regulation for the first time while expanding scientific measures to protect the broadbill swordfish. Senator Robert J. Lagomarsino cited spotter airplanes used by some fishermen as a factor in overfishing risk. Also noted is the 4315th Combat Crew Training Squadron at Vandenberg AFB naming Staff Sergeant Phillip Perrot as Outstanding Airman of the Year for 1973 for his work in missile procedures and quality control programs.
