No protest on liquor license for Earl Warren Showgrounds
The Santa Barbara Board of Supervisors declined to adopt a protest resolution against Marvin Grant’s on sale liquor license at Earl Warren Showgrounds. Allen Ross said liquor sales at special events would follow current practice with Grant selling to leasees rather than via an existing licensee. Supervisor Callahan, after Grant agreed to a possible public hearing in May, backed the move, noting Grant’s clean record but acknowledging local El Encanto residents’ concerns about a 24 hour public bar impression.
