County Supervisors Seek State Help on Agricultural Preserve Delays
The Board of Supervisors asked the State Legislature to extend the processing deadline for about 60 agricultural preserve applications to May 15. They also set a Dec 31 filing deadline for next tax year. A land description dispute prompted debate over metes and bounds versus hold harmless clauses, with a 4-1 vote backing standard descriptions. Experts will meet Jan 12 with Lompoc officials to discuss amendments to the Land Conservation Act and local implications.
