Falcons QB Bob Berry Arrested After Apartment Raid

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Bob Berry was arrested on an assaulting a policeman charge during a raid on Randy Marshall's Cobb County apartment. Marshall and a 20 year old woman, Carol Nichols, faced drug and disorderly house charges after less than one ounce of marijuana was found. Berry and Marshall posted $500 bonds. Nichols $300.

Quiet bottom fishing with ling cod and clamming tides

Ocean fishing was slow for most boats due to heavy swells and rain though ling cod near Point Buchan yielded near limits for Morrow Bay party boats. White sea bass and bonito remained scarce. Freshwater reports show Lake San Antonio bass and catfish fair to good, while Nacimiento yields mixed results after turnover. DFG planting updates and hunting activity highlight safety trainings and a strong rifle team record.

Records fall at Allan Hancock Winter All-Comer meet

Four new meet records highlighted the first Winter All-Comer meet at Allan Hancock College. Maurice Peoples set a 49.7 in the 440 to break his prior mark, Mike Macy of UCSB clocked 9:37.7 for the two mile, and Cabrillo HS senior Mike Drouin vaulted 14-6 to break Kenny Kring’s mark. San Luis Obispo HS’s John Pickett ran 23.1 for the furlong, with a second meet planned for next Saturday at the same venue.

Hancock Bulldogs land seven on All League team

Hancock College Bulldogs place seven players on the Central California Community College Athletic Assn All League first and second teams.
