The ceremony featured candlelight organza gown, Gibson Girl nosegay, and reception at Westminster Hall before a Yosemite honeymoon. The bride, a Soquel High School graduate and Allan Hancock College employee, is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Buss. groom is son of Gail Clay and the late Mrs. Clay of Broken Bow Nebraska.

The Lou Rubenstein family enjoyed a lengthy summer trip to Hawaii visiting Maui Kauai and Oahu where a designer urged a display of their turquoise jewelry. They then rafted the American River near Sacramento with daughters Wendy and Irene. The Elams toured by road rail and air from California to Alaska before heading toward Whitehorse.
