Women of Moose install chaplain in Lompoc
The Lompoc Women of the Moose elected and installed Mrs. Harold Dix as chaplain with installing officer Mrs. Kenneth Sorenson. A garage and bake sale is set for September 12-13 at Mrs. Robert Kennedy’s home to fund Mooseheart utility remodels. A child wardrobe for River side School for the Deaf was completed, and several members returned from the California Moose Association convention in Sacramento. A full convention report will be given at September’s second meeting. Next chapter meeting is September 8 at 8 p.m. at the Moose Home.

Embassy Farewell Dish Delights Guests With Tamale Dip
Col and Mrs Otto Haney hosted a farewell for Col and Mrs David H Parger at 706 Ash Vandenberg AFB. About 30 guests enjoyed hors d oeuvres including stuffed lobster prunes bacon wrapped morsels and a tamale dip recipe shared from a 1966 embassy function in Norway. The recipe features tamales chili with beans cheese and seasonings and is paired with Fritos.

Teens for the Handicapped eye youth chapter in Lompoc
Barbara Jellow chairs an organizational meeting at the Lompoc Library on Monday September 8 at 7 30 pm to form a Teens for the Handicapped chapter, part of the Youth California Council for Retarded Children.
