Teachers ratify pay pact in Lompoc Unified
Trustees of Lompoc Unified School District were to meet in special session to sign a teacher salary package approved by the LEA Rep Council. The pact provides about a 5.5 percent raise similar to that given to classified staff, raising master’s max to $15,469 and starting salary to $7,987.

The Valley Trade Committee of the Chamber of Commerce sponsors Pioneer Days in Lompoc this weekend August 30 31 and September 1. Merchants will decorate windows and staff wear Pioneer outfits. A Pioneer Days Costume Breakfast is set for 8 am August 30 at the Elks Lodge. Window displays are judged August 29 with Pioneer and Historical Societies as judges. Trophies will honor top displays and costumes, plus an award for the oldest attendee.

Hijacking Case Solved In Lompoc Truck-Abduction
Four men are in custody in San Luis Obispo on hijacking charges after police recovered a $30,000 stolen truck-trailer rig abandoned on a Lompoc street. Supervisors OK New Employer Employee Relations Policy
The Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to adopt a policy requiring employee groups to hold elections and be certified as official bargaining units starting Oct 1.
