County tax cut recommended by auditor Floyd
County Auditor Paul E. Floyd urged the Board of Supervisors to set the FY 1973 74 tax levy at 2.5693 or 2.6404 per 100 of assessed value depending on a tax litigation reserve. The current rate is 3.46, down from 3.60 in 1971 72, helped by a 7 million federal revenue sharing program and a record 5.4 million fund balance.

Village water rate hike hearing set by PUC
The California Public Utilities Commission will hold a public hearing at Cabrillo High School Little Theater on the Vandenberg Utilities Co. rate increase.
