Filarsky Canter wedding follows bride traditions

Miss Carol Ann Filarsky married Robert Louis Canter in a Peace Lutheran Church ceremony August 17 with 90 guests. Attendants included Susan Nelson and bridesmaids Winnifred Hervey and Teresa Cessna, as parents and relatives looked on.

Karen Paaske sails Chapman College cruise to Mediterranean

Miss Karen Paaske a fourth grade teacher from North County near Hollister joined a 150 person Chapman College group on a Chandris Cruises voyage. The trip began with Milan and Venice then Olympia Athens Yalta Moscow and Istanbul before a 12 day MV Romania voyage to Malta Sfax Tunis Palermo Syracuse Dubrovnik Split and finally London and Scotland. She kept a scrapbook of posters maps and keepsakes including a silk scarf and evil eye bead necklace.

Reck-Rodriguez Wedding Held in Garden Setting

The ceremony for Miss Diane Lee Reck and Ralph Carl Rodriguez took place August 17 beside a garden bridge and gazebo with Rev. Murray Gibbs officiating. Attendants included Debra Beck and Rae Jean Reck, with Julie Robin as flower girl. The couple will live in Santa Barbara after trips to Mazatlan and San Diego.

Busy Bees of Lompoc to Hold Workshop Meeting

Busy Bees of Lompoc Community Woman's Club meets in a 10 a.m. workshop session Wednesday at Hospitality House 217 W Maple Ave. Members should bring sack lunches. Coffee will be served. They will prepare articles for the club's annual Christmas bazaar. Mrs James Jauncey is group chairman.

Henry Marshall spoke at a program meeting about LOVARC. Future plans include a Nov 16 community bazaar at Veterans Memorial Building and a Sept 14 Flea Market space at Lompoc High School lot.
