Nixon gift inventory set for next week in archives
U.S. District Judge Aubrey Robinson allowed the State Department to inspect Box 118 for photos and descriptions of gifts Nixon and his family received while in office. The GSA will conduct the first archival intrusion to complete the foreign gifts inventory, amid questions of missing items and record-keeping gaps. Gifts traced to Iran, Italy, West Germany, and other nations. Nixon lawyers sought stronger privacy safeguards, which the judge did not require.
