U S Prisoners Transferred Ahead of Exchange Plan

Harrises win right to choose own lawyers in Hearst case

California Supreme Court ruled Bill and Emily Harris may select their own defense attorneys in the Patricia Hearst kidnapping case. The court found Alameda County Superior Court abused discretion by denying their requested lawyers Susan Jordan for Emily and Leonard Weinglass for Bill. The Harrises were charged with kidnapping and multiple robberies tied to the Feb 4 1974 Hearst kidnapping.
