Lompoc Women elect new officers and plan sales
Merrijane Pritchard is elected president of the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce Women's Division. Officers named include Olivia Cotsenmeyer vice president Elaine Johnson secretary Norma Stillman treasurer. Installation Sept. 3 at the Valley Club features guest speaker Mrs. Fred Atkin. A swap sale is planned Aug. 23 at Valley Drive-In Theater with donations collected during business hours. Proceeds benefit the Flower Power beautification project.

The Lompoc Valley chapter joins the national drive asking $570 locally while Red Cross reports 10 million dollars a year for disaster relief. Hurricane Celia costs exceed 6 million with 15 000 families needing long term aid and 5 000 welfare inquiries answered. 14 000 inquiries overall.
