White House urged to apologize for Cranston invitation snub

A California Democrats official demanded an apology from the White House for not inviting Sen. Alan Cranston to a Los Angeles dinner honoring moon astronauts. Cranston press secretary said the omission was an oversight, while Cranston aides noted no rift with the administration.

Public hearing eyed for Santa Barbara planning permit

The Santa Barbara Planning Commission will continue a public hearing on a conditional use permit for a public riding stable at 2900 Rucker Road in Mission Hills. Eleanor J. Robb filed the request, and the hearing resumes Wednesday.

Winnie Ruth Judd Extradition Ordered by Reagan

Gov. Ronald Reagan orders Winnie Ruth Judd extradited to Arizona after rejecting her plea to stay in California. He cites no basis to refuse Arizona's requisition. Judd, who fled an Arizona mental institution seven years ago, was recaptured in Danville near San Francisco this June.

MOL research pilots reassigned to NASA

Seven research pilots formerly attached to the Manned Orbital Laboratory program have been reassigned as astronauts to NASA. The Department of Defense announced the transfers, naming Maj Karol J. Psychiatrist and psychologist study Tate murder evidence

In Los Angeles a psychiatrist and psychologist examined evidence from the Tate residence killings to profile the killer's behavior. The victims include Sharon Tate, Abigail Folger, Voityck Frokowsky, Jay Sebring, and Steven Parent. Tate and Sebring were found slain in the living room.

Violence recurs in Seattle University District clash

A second Seattle disturbance within 24 hours saw about 2,000 demonstrators using the University of Washington campus as a staging ground for raids on stores in the business district. One TV store was looted, Pacific National Bank windows broken, and several high value items taken. Twenty-one arrested, injuries reported and tear gas used.
