Vesco probe delayed as Dean cites Mitchell Stans role

UPI reports the SEC was about to accuse financier Robert Vesco of illegal dealings before prosecutors sought a delay. John W. Dean III asked to halt the Vesco probe, saying he acted under orders from former Attorney General John N. Mitchell. Mitchell and Maurice Stans face perjury and conspiracy charges in the Vesco matter.

Lompoc Poodle Wins National Best in Show Title

A standard poodle owned by Bill Hoffman of Lompoc won the national Best in Show at the American Kennel Club show in Eau Claire Wisconsin. The event drew 1195 entries with Don Walker of Yorba Linda as the poodle’s handler. It is Lompoc’s first Best of Show and the dog, under two years old, beat the top Dalmatian. This marked its fourth appearance as a special.

Pacific Conservatory seats still open for five summer productions

Box office manager Greg Mason announced choice seats remain for all five 1973 summer shows The Music Man Arsenic and Old Lace The Most Happy Fella Tartuffe and The Caucasian Chalk Circle. New Residency Rules for California Community Colleges

California residents face new requirements under Assembly Bill 666 due to the fall 1973 rollout. A student must live in California over one year and intend it as a permanent home to be classified as a resident.
