Plans to repair Route 54 slipout completed
The California State Division of Highways District 5 completed reconstruction plans for the Route 54 slipout northerly of San Marcus Pass. The project, costing about 200000 dollars, includes 130000 cubic yards of excavation and a 55 day work period. Bid advertising is set in two weeks with an expected November bid opening. Traffic should return to the main road next spring after the detour.
