James Robbins demonstrates varied talents at Lompoc High

James Robbins, a Lompoc High student, excels in drama forensics and music. He built swords and shields for Camelot, starred in Tea House of the August Moon, and earned the Degree of Distinction in forensics. He plans further studies at Allan Hancock and UCSB, aiming for political science or law.

Allan Hancock student officials named for 1974-75 cheer squads

The 1974-75 varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders and songleaders were elected after weeks of practice in front of the student body. Quill and Scroll plans Los Angeles trip for contests and tours

Lompoc High Quill and Scroll members travel to Los Angeles this afternoon for a contest at Santa Fe Springs High and a state level writing event. They will tour Taylor Publishing and visit CBS KNXT facilities, plus a yearbook contest with four finalists. Dinner movie shopping and a basketball game with the yearbook staff are also on the agenda. An initiation banquet for old members is set for May 2 at Mastro's Italian Restaurant with many former members listed.

Cabrillo Day Celebrated with Fun Activities and Prizes

The first annual Cabrillo Day on April 19 featured free events organized by the Pep Club. Teachers swapped classes in a novelty period, a lunch time tricycle race among clubs, and a water balloon toss. the speech team won the trophy.

Music therapy helps disturbed children and adults in New York

Florence Tyson leads the Creative Arts Rehabilitation Center a nonprofit extending hospital treatment through music dance and art. The center trains therapists and uses weekly to daily sessions aiming to unlock deep fears and restore expression. A featured case, Chryssa now 30 after years of abuse, moved from silent body language to study at Columbia Teachers College.
