Interim sewer project in Lompoc aims to ease growth before a $12 million regional plant line opens in about two years. City Council approved a $75 000 interim system in Oct 1973 with six month moratorium on large hookups and raised fees for new connections to underwrite the plan.
The Senate Watergate committee drafts a report urging less executive concentration of power and greater agency independence including the Justice Department and CIA. It backs a permanent special prosecutor and strengthens congressional watchdogs while opposing constitutional amendments, with broad support expected.
The Lompoc Democratic Club highlighted candidates for State Senator in a special and primary election, presenting Russ Herron Paul Kinney and Omer Rains as contenders while not endorsing any. Laird Hayes skipped due to campaign duties.
