Flower Festival Parade names Mary Anne Arnett coordinator

The Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce chose Mary Anne Arnett as the 21st Flower Festival Parade coordinator. She moved from Illinois with her husband and previously worked for Peoria Association of Commerce as secretary for the Convention and Visitors' Department aiding with Steamboat Days and the riverboat race between Julia Belle Swain and Delta Queen.

Thunderstorms, hail hit vast Southland region

Thunderstorms roamed the Southland from Texas to the Southern Atlantic Coast bringing hail and heavy rain Wednesday night. Hail up to two inches fell across southcentral and southeast Texas with near two inch hail in north central Alabama. A tornado was reported in Jacksonville Florida with no damage or injuries reported.
