Village man charged after collision on Constellation Road

William Dias 22 of 148 Alcor Ave suffered facial injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after his car hit a parked vehicle on Constellation Road at 7 p.m. The second parked car was struck, causing moderate to major damage. Dias received treatment at Lompoc Hospital before booking.

Controversy Over Golf Course Land Density Continues

Santa Ynez Valley activists led by William Webb and his wife Doree urged tighter density limits as the commission debated five acre slivers from golf course land. Commissioner James Bartlett briefly opposed approval but joined in backing a compromise. County farm accident study begins in Santa Barbara County

A nine member volunteer team launches a countywide farm accident and health survey through May 15. UC and the California Farm Bureau plan to survey 65 rural families to inform a statewide safety program with confidential data on injuries, costs, and work time.
