Campus disorders erupt as NYU Bronx library bombed

Four fire bombs struck the Sage Engineering Library on the Bronx campus of New York University causing minor damage. Across New York, Colgate University black students barricaded Merrill House evicting a housekeeper and Colgate SDS supported the action amid threats of a return until a moral commitment is made. At Cornell University armed black students said they would keep their weapons until protections against reprisals are guaranteed as faculty revolt followed their earlier occupation.

Navy pilot presumed lost after Arguello crash

A Navy jet crashed about eight miles off Point Arguello in rough seas at 6 40 last night. Officials say no life signs despite a search, and Lt JG Leon A Linkey 26 of Attack Squadron 212 at Lemoore is presumed dead. He graduated in 1965 from San Francisco State College and lived with his wife on Lemoore Station.

Two youths injured in Lompoc motorcycle crash

Michael Patnesky age 17 of Mission Hills suffered a broken collarbone and Ronald Bock 15 of Lompoc received cuts when they fell from a motorcycle in a collision with a car at Maple Avenue and B Street at 4 45 PM. Patnesky was treated at Lompoc Hospital then at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Bock was treated and released. Driver William Bryan 57 of 526 N F Street escaped injury. The motorcycle had moderate damage. Bryan's car had minor damage.
