Brown Still top Candidate in California Democratic race

UPI report shows Edmund G Brown Jr leading the California Democratic gubernatorial field with 29 percent support among Democrats. Robert Moretti 16 percent, Joseph Alioto 15 percent, with 24 percent undecided. After excluding the undecided, Brown leads 38 percent to 21 percent for Moretti and 20 percent for Alioto.

Canadian Winds Cool Nation as Frost Warnings Spread

Cool air from Canada chilled much of the Midwest and Great Lakes with freeze and frost warnings issued in Michigan Kentucky Ohio and West Virginia. Winds gusted on the lower Great Lakes, gale warnings for Lake Huron, while rain drizzle and snow affected the Northeast and Rocky Mountain regions. Morning temps ranged from 78 at Key West to 24 at Hibbing Minnesota.

Airmen held in brutal Utah stereo shop murders
