American ping pong team on tour visits Peking university
The 15 member U S ping pong delegation met Chinese students at Chinghua University in Peking and toured campus while awaiting a scheduled match. They later visited the Great Wall and the factory, with a basketball class stop on the return. The trip follows their arrival Saturday on an unprecedented U S visit to China.

Vacation crowds leave litter and arrests along Colorado River
About 30,000 college students and young people traveled from camps along a 200 mile Colorado River stretch. Authorities reported nearly 500 arrests mainly for drunkenness and narcotics, with most crowds peaceful aside from heavy litter. In Death Valley Ballarat and Los Angeles events there were few arrests and some rioting but overall limited violence.

U S Air Force Drops 72 Ton Blockbusters in Vietnam
UPI reports the U S Air Force used its 72 ton blockbuster bombs for the first time in the Indochina War against Communist troops around Fire Base 6 in the Central Highlands. Two bombs were dropped from C 130 planes, followed by B 52 strikes totaling thousands of tons in the area.

Airman raises 30000 to aid Texas nephritis victims
Air Force sergeant Robert L. Jones from Turlock California raised 30000 in 12 hours at Phanrang Air Force Base for Paula Holt 17 and Gary Holt 20 of Austin Texas who suffer acute nephritis. A donor gave 1000 from a reenlistment bonus and another cancelled a car order for 450. Jones arrived home on 14 day leave from Vietnam. He plans to grow the effort to 50000 while the Holts’ machine costs 360 monthly per child.
