Calvary Baptists Attend Northern California Retreat

About 20 men from Calvary Baptist Church Lompoc join peers at Mission Springs for the Northern California Baptist Conference Men's Retreat in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Delegates will attend the Tuare conference meeting April 18 19 while youth from Calvary travel to Kingsburg for a youth convention.

Reverend McLeod to Speak at First Presbyterian Church

The Rev. Jack M. McLeod of Philadelphia will be guest speaker at First Presbyterian Church, joining Pastor Rev. Kenneth R. Modern services and church sale events at St Marys

St Marys Episcopal Church hosts a 9 and 11 a.m. contemporary Holy Communion service led by Senior Episcopal Young Churchmen this Sunday with a bake sale to support the youth treasury. Christians Welcome New Pastor at First Christian Church

The First Christian Church at 1517 West College will welcome Rev. William J. Denton to the pulpit on Sunday, April 13. Worship begins 11 a.m. with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. An executive committee and board meetings follow in mid April, with the Naomi Spencer Group hosting a fellowship hour.

Southern Baptist laymen to lead Sunday services at church

The First Southern Baptist Church will have laymen lead the 11:00 a.m. and 7:15 p.m. services tomorrow. Next Sunday, Jacob O. Gurley, minister of music and education, will speak in the morning, while Pastor Timberlake returns for the evening sermon. A house party for Girls Auxiliaries from 14 churches is planned for next Friday and Saturday. Max Alexander will be the featured speaker tomorrow morning. he is a long-time Lompoc resident and retired Air Force officer. The evening speaker is Lee Wilkes, director of the Baptist Men and a first term deacon. The Crusade of the Americas emphasis has shifted to Northern California this month and the church has adopted a recreation schedule for adults and students with Friday evenings reserved for table games. A new member orientation class meets weekly at 6:00 p.m. in the pastor's study for new members and visitors.

Dr Paul W Thomas will be guest missionary speaker at the Church of the Nazarene 7 p m Sunday at 412 N E St. He served as general superintendent editor of the church paper and secretary of foreign missions for 16 years and has traveled worldwide for missions.
