Tierra Adorado District holds 13th CFWC convention

The Tierra Adorado District California Federated Women's Clubs holds its 13th annual convention with the theme Up, Up and Away at Vandenberg Inn Santa Maria. Pat Scouts Trek 35 Mile Wilderness Trip in Los Padres

Eight Boy Scouts from Troop 103 completed a 35 mile backcountry hike in Los Padres National Forest and San Rafael Wilderness Area during Easter. They started at Figueroa Mountain Ranger Station and traveled to Manzana School Camp then along Hurricane Deck. They visited Indian Caves and Potrero Canyon, found stone bowls, and conducted conservation crossings.

Celebrated Musicians Slated for Santa Barbara Concert

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra will perform April 8 in the Granada Theatre Santa Barbara as the 50th season of the Community Arts Music Association ends. Antal Dorati will conduct and soloist Alfred Brendel will perform Mozart’s Concerto No. 25 in C major. Dorati’s busy career includes leading the Stockholm Philharmonic and the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington. Brendel is renowned for Schubert and Brahms with extensive Mozart to Schoenberg recordings. The program also includes Parsifal preludes and Wagner pieces.

Miss Anderson Named Rainbow Grand Worthy Advisor

Anita Anderson of Lompoc was chosen 1969 70 Grand Worthy Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in California at the Grand Assembly in Fresno. The 18 year old freshman at Allan Hancock College will take a year off for duties, travel across 91 California districts and attend Grand Assembly events in Arizona and Nevada.
