Tollroads in Lancaster County Struggle to Leave Legacy
The Lancaster and Ephrata turnpike and Plankroad were purchased by the county, as toll roads gradually disappear. Lititz faces continued tolls that hurt business, while other routes suffer from neglect. The Lititz-Rothsville pike remains in poor condition, and the old pike to Manheim is also deplorable. Residents hope time will bring improvements, with some favoring longer routes via Neffsville to avoid rough shorter crossings.
