Lititz and Vicinity in 1842 Farm Life Mosaic
In 1842 Lititz area farms show a network of owners including Jacob Miller and sons, Christian Kreider, Rev. Longenecker, and Keller family. Orchards, mills like Becker's and Keller's mill, and many tenant farms reflect a cultivated landscape. Several properties linked to Lititz Congregation, Moravian, and local tradesmen illustrate a living snapshot before later changes.

Old Valley Inn One of York County's Historic Stone Buildings
Lancaster county can boast many old structures but York has a rival too. The Old Valley Inn two miles east of York on the Lincoln Highway is a native limestone stone building dating to 1738 built by John Griest as a block house for protection from Indians. It later grew to be one of the largest in the area and has a fifty foot square ballroom. Prohibition ended its hotel use and it now operates as a first class inn under the Mess Ramsey, filled with antique furniture to match the building.
