Lititz Ice Plant Begins Operation With 30 Tons Daily
The Lititz ice plant started Monday morning producing the first cake of ice for Chester Ruth. It uses borough water, ammonia cooling, and Spring Creek water to refrigerate, with a 24 hour cake cycle and a 30 ton per day capacity. Built by Jacob Stober of Ephrata the plant sits on North Alley on the former Burkholder garage site.

Bard Concert Draws Big Crowd in Lititz
A Saturday Bard Concert by the Denver band drew a large Lititz crowd despite tarvia coated streets deterring some drivers. A donor from twenty five miles away handed manager William Stauffer a two dollar bill. donations are welcome to help raise funds for bond payments. Barn raising planned at B F Grosh farm in Rome on May 29 expects about one hundred workers to erect a modern 90 by 50 foot structure with a brick base and a wing, replacing the previous fire destroyed barn. Electric lights and running water included. Hershey Seaman Co. contractors. Evan Miller of Brunnerville leads carpenters.
