Rocket pioneer Von Braun dies at 65 in Virginia hospital
Wernher von Braun, German born space engineer who led V2 and Saturn rocket programs and helped NASA orbit Explorer 1, died of colon cancer in an Alexandria hospital after a long illness. Funeral held for the famed scientist with family present. He was 65.
