Tornado Impacts Kunkel Farm and Nearby Homes

A tornado struck Marion township causing damage around the cattle shed on the Kunkel place in Section 23. The cab on the foundation and the elevator in the crib were twisted, shed boards spread up to 100 yards east, and a window was damaged by debris. Trees were uprooted in the grove and shingles torn from nearby buildings. Ralph Nichus, related to the Kunkels, farms the property. The romancers farm near the first reported touch down, with the family at home hearing the noise.
