Le Mars Drum and Bugle Corps Draws 3000 Ticket Buyers

The American Legion and Bugle Corps dance at the Armory on Decoration Day is expected to attract a large crowd as about 3000 tickets at 3 each have been sold. The initiative will fund new uniforms for the Le Mars Drum and Bugle Corps, which already has a public profile from prior performances in Le Mars Akron Remsen and Kiowa.

Le Mars Sets Plan For Softer Water Supply

Darrel Ketelsen of I P S Co explains recent water quality improvements in Le Mars as repairs at the pumping station finish. A deep 300 foot well and a shallow 109 foot well mixed to reduce iron content and hardness, with a new shallow well to be drilled soon. Automatic equipment will run pumps to maintain balance.

Le Mars Pool Opens Saturday For Decoration Day Weekend

The Le Mars municipal swimming pool will open for the Decoration Day weekend weather permitting. Hours are Saturday 1 to 6 pm and Sunday and Monday 10:30 am to 6 pm with lifeguards on duty. Management will shift to Jim Carey starting June 6 with four to five lifeguards daily through summer. Also notes social visits from local families, a bake sale by St. Joseph's Altar Society, and scholastic honors for Joan Belk at St. Olaf College.
