Tornado Rips Through Farmland Northeast of Le Mars
A moderate tornado struck about three miles of countryside near Le Mars between 7:30 and 7:45 PM Thursday, shredding crops and destroying a barn, cattle shed, and machine shed. The Kunkel farm suffered extensive damage to a barn and house while power lines were toppled. One fatality is reported. weather warnings had preceded the event. Residents aided by neighbors cleared debris and secured lines by morning.
