Le Mars Woman Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Hikla Erickson Rowe, longtime Grant and Washington township resident, died February 4 1959 after a 18 month sickness. Survived by husband Charles Rowe and children Mabel Far Love, Hurlin Rowe, Edith Ellis, Ethel Brown, Foster Rowe, sister Clara Fralhey and several grandchildren. Funeral 1:30 PM Friday at Mauer chapel and 2 PM at Plymouth Presbyterian Church with burial in church cemetery.

Ros funeral home notes Mr Bride born November 14 1876 in Platteville Wis. He was a salesman for a Sioux City livestock firm before retiring twenty years ago. Survivors include four sisters and a brother. Bazaar committee planned monthly shipwork meetings at the hospital with materials for bazaar articles. Sisters presented a 2000 check for nursery remodeling, with 800 more to be raised at the bazaar. Also featured on Jimmy Dean show a musical group from Aberdeen won talent contest at St Paul Ice Carnival. James M Kelley named as candidate for U S Air Force Academy appointment. Hospital Auxiliary Growth At Sacred Heart Hospital
The Sacred Heart Hospital Auxiliary reports membership has risen to 605 from Le Mars and surrounding towns. At the annual meeting held Monday evening at the hospital, Mrs. Barton Dull and Mrs. R. J. Fisch announced the gains and officers were elected. New officers include Mrs. Clarence Branch as president and Mrs Burton Dull as vice president. The group discussed plans for next winter’s bazaar and noted committee reports and the nominating slate.
