Siou x City couple to mark 60th anniversary
Mr and Mrs Mike Kounkel of 4335 Polk Street Sioux City celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house at Calvary Lutheran Church parish hall 4442 Central Street on Saturday from 2 to near 5 pm February 7. They married February 7 1899 at Trinity Lutheran church Hinton and lived in Plymouth County until 1929 then moved to Leeds. They joined Calvary Lutheran when the parish formed in 1935 and she has been an active church member since. Daughters Caroline Caldwell Foiel Bet and Mabel Dixon live in Sioux City and Gerti Krausell in Hinton. Their son Frank died in 1950 and they have eight grandchildren and six or more great grandchildren.
