Big Doors Needed for Pinsetters at Brauch's Bowling Lanes
Nemmers Bros replaced four doors at the Alley entrance to Brauch's Bowling Lanes to move in eighty thousand dollars worth of eight pin setting machines purchased by Clarence Brauch. Installation will take about four days, bringing automation to a popular northwest Iowa sport. The change raises bowling costs slightly due to new equipment, but promises faster and more reliable pin setting. The lanes feature heavy hard maple decks and precise leveling to maintain the game's exact math.

Rain Fills New Basement In Le Mars Town Wide Storm
Heavy rainfall in Le Mars Thursday night left two inches of collected water with few injuries or major property losses. Remsen and surrounding towns reported rainfall totals from 1.9 to 2.6 inches according to the weather bureau. A temporary flood dam failed in southeast Le Mars, sending mud and water toward homes and yards. The worst damage struck a new basement owned by Cleo Campbell, where a wall collapsed and mud flooded the space, while Donald Thoms saw minor garden damage and a partially flooded yard. City crews plan a storm sewer to handle future floods.
