How To Get Into Conservation Program
Farmers seeking cropland in the 1960 conservation reserve must request their county ASC Committee to set a basic annual rate per acre. The filing window runs August 24 to September 10. Rates reflect land productivity and local fair rental values, with higher rates if all eligible land is offered. A contract may run up to 101 years with annual rental and cost sharing for conservation practices. Also notes Coast Guard recruiting openings across many fields with required documentation and eligibility.
