Accident Ties Mercury to Local Truck Collision
A 1959 Mercury owned by Sheriff Frank Scholer sustained front end damage after colliding with a truck tractor outfit owned by Donald Oldenkamp of Hospers and leased to Gordon and Stone of Sheldon. Fire Burns Forty Acre Brush Near Earl Kaiser Farm
A Monday night brush fire burned about forty acres near the Earl Kaiser farm with gusty winds fanning the flames. Fire crews from Le Mars battled the blaze, aided by trucks from Wiltgen Ready Mix and Hart Soft Water Service and a weather rainfall of .13 inch helped quell the flames. Car Demolished Last Night Near Akron
Claire Walter Mason 20 of Oskaloosa Ia drove a Mercury when he lost control on Highway 2 three miles south of Akron and ditched the car. Three wheels and tires were reported stolen, Mason uninjured but treated for hip and knee injuries at Akron hospital. Sheriff Frank Scholer investigated the crash and said the wreck was not recovered until today.

Transient Claims He Was Hit By Car in Le Mars
Le Mars police said no charges filed against William Loren 40 of Denver Colorado. He was held for investigation after being picked up at Hammers Restaurant on Highway 75 Tuesday night. Loren fell outside the cafe, was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for bruises and abrasions, released next morning, and jailed for further custody. He claimed he was hit by a car entering the restaurant, a claim not verified.
