Ray mond J. Becker, ASCS County committee chair, announced the 1963 feed grain program signup is under way and extends through March 22. Participation reduces corn, grain sorghum, or barley acreage by at least 20 percent, lowering production costs and providing income protection for farmers. He urged growers to sign up early to avoid a last minute rush.
The program bases payments on normal production rather than actual output. Diversion payments use acreage diverted to conserving use, while price-support payments rely on 1963 planted acreage for corn, grain sorghum, and barley. Payments occur whether feed grain is sold or fed. Farmers may also qualify for regular price-support loans on their total 1963 production.

Project leader Lowell Dempster encourages electrical projects and basic principles.
