Allen couple celebrates 40th wedding anniversary
Mr and Mrs Ralph Allen marked their 40th wedding anniversary with more than 200 friends and relatives on May 26. An open house at Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church Le Mars featured family hosts, cake cutting, and a luncheon with relatives helping in the kitchen and serving. The couple married May 31, 1923, in Grand Meadow near Pierson and now reside at 1084 4th Ave SE.

Wedding of the bride with Gengler kin and Bain bridge aid
Wayne Weber, cousin of the bride, attended the ceremony where the bride wore a blue lace street length dress and a matching crown with bead trim. The bridegroom was assisted by Wayne Weber. The mothers wore navy crepe and light blue lace dresses respectively. Corsages were red and white roses. Dinner for immediate family and friends followed at Haramers.
