Iowa land values rise to 640 an acre in northwest region
Iowa State University economists report 1972 land values rose 11 percent statewide to 440 per acre, with high grade land at 640 in northwest counties like Plymouth and Osceola. Brokers cite farm enlargement, higher crop yields and prices, nonfarm investment, lending terms easing, and land scarcity as key drivers.
